Job ResponsibilitiesDisseminate information to supervisory staff to enhance institutional/agency intelligence.Conduct surveillance of potential threat areas.Interview and verify that photographs of all new arrivals have been taken.Complete paperwork and packets for inmates suspected of gang involvement or those wishing to renounce gang affiliation.Assist contraband staff in searching cells of suspected gang members.Monitor inmate phone calls.Maintain accurate records of all confiscated items, including written material containing codes and symbols.Supervise assigned subordinates to ensure full monitoring of individuals of concern and adherence to policy and procedure.Gather evidence and intelligence related to STG.Assist in monitoring STG populations within institutions.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Statewide STG Coordinator, Assistant Statewide Coordinator, or STG Analyst.Minimum RequirementsA high school diploma and at least 18 months of experience in correctional, security, military, or police work.A degree in criminal justice or a related field may substitute for half the required experience.Must complete SCDC Basic Training within the first six months of employment.QualificationsMinimum of 18 months correctional or related security experience.Supervisory experience in a correctional, security, military, or police environment (preferred).Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.BenefitsEligible employees receive health and dental insurance; retirement and savings plan options; paid vacation and sick leave; and work‑life balance programs such as telecommuting and flexible schedules where available.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementThe South Carolina Department of Corrections is committed to providing equal opportunities to all applicants and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.#J-18808-Ljbffr
