Protective Services Officer – Armed III (Good Samaritan Hospital)Location: Good Samaritan Hospital, 375 Dixmyth Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45220Work Schedule:Full‑time (36 hours/week)NIGHT Shift (shift differential pay)Weekend and holiday rotationIncentives & Benefits: Shift differentials, comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, paid time off, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement). Additional benefits available for PRN/Optional.Job OverviewMaintain security and safety of patients, visitors, staff, and property.Patrol buildings and grounds, deter/prevent law and policy violations.Post‑up at assigned locations / monitor controlled entry points.Communicate with the Communications Center and other Protective Services personnel via two‑way radio, phone, and other devices.Ensure authorized personnel only access the premises; verify credentials and detain unlicensed individuals when necessary.Report safety and fire hazards, and violations of Joint Commission, OSHA, NFPA, and Fire Code requirements.Respond to and investigate routine or urgent complaints from patients, parents, visitors, and staff.File incident documentation within shift time and conduct follow‑up investigations as directed.Assist clinical staff with patient restraint, monitor combative patients, and provide emergency response within three minutes of activation.Act as a source of authority with high visibility and serve as liaison with police and fire agencies.Direct campus traffic, control parking, and issue violations for illegal parking.Escort personnel to and from parking areas and control access to buildings and grounds.Maintain security logs, forms, and provide information to patients, visitors, and staff as requested.Job RequirementsMinimum age 21 years.High school diploma or GED.2–4 years technical experience in criminal justice, police, or military (preferred).Excellent communication and customer service skills.Current OPOTA certification or ability to obtain certification within 45 days of hire.Valid driver's license with no more than four driving points recorded.No prior DUI/DWI convictions within the last five years.No major moving violations convictions.Must be able to carry a firearm at all times and employ defensive tactics as per use‑of‑force policies.#J-18808-Ljbffr
