HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW
The Customs Clearance Specialist is responsible for managing customs documentation, coordinating entry filings with brokers, and ensuring compliance with CBP rules and regulations
This is an in-office position based in Manteno, IL.
EXPECTATIONS
• Coordinate import entry filings and in-bond movement documentation with customs brokers
• Review and validate import documentation prior to submission to CBP
• Monitor entry status and resolve issues impacting customs clearance
• Determine and maintain product HTS Classification, country of origin, validate customs valuation
• Monitor regulatory updates impacting import and export compliance
• Verify customs documentation for FTZ admissions, withdrawals, and zone transfers
• Maintain organized customs entry records to support internal reviews and CBP audits
• Support export documentation and EEI filing process
• Create import processes and work instructions
• Partner with supply chain, procurement, finance, and operations teams
ESSENTIALS
• 3-5 years of experience in trade compliance
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• LCB or CCS preferred
• In depth understanding of import entry process, documentation and audit
• Solid experience with HTS Classification, Country of Origin, Valuation, FTAs,
• Experience supporting manufacturing, high-volume imports, or FTZ operations preferred
• Knowledge of CBP & PGA regulations, import documentation requirements
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and ability to manage multiple priorities
