This position is responsible for maintaining readiness, operating firefighting equipment, conducting inspections, participating in training programs, and supporting departmental emergency management activities. Lead Firefighters provide guidance and mentorship to other personnel while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and operational standards. Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain a security clearance and maintain it as required. Clearance level is to be determined. Performs other duties as assigned.Experience RequirementsMinimum of three (3) years of experience in fire service, including emergency response and firefighting operationsExperience in fire suppression, rescue operations, and basic emergency medical careKnowledge of firefighting equipment, techniques, and safety proceduresExperience in performing inspections, maintenance, and testing of fire apparatus and equipmentStrong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skillsExperience PreferencesExperience in a municipal or county fire departmentLeadership experience as a senior or lead firefighterExperience with public education and fire prevention programsFamiliarity with ISO and NFPA standardsPhysical RequirementsAbility to respond to emergency incidents under high-stress conditionsAbility to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and prolonged periods of activityAbility to use personal protective equipment and operate fire apparatus safelyEducation RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent recognized certificationEducation PreferencesFirefighter I & II certificationEmergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification or equivalentTraining ScheduleTBDScheduleVaries based on operational needs; includes availability for emergency response, nights, weekends, and holidaysDress CodeTBDBenefitsTBDAdditional InformationDrug screening, background, and reference checks are performed if required.
