Fire Protection Engineer (PE)
Wiginton Fire Systems is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Engineer (PE) to help expand and strengthen our presence in the South Florida market. We are looking for a licensed Florida Professional Engineer who wants to help build something long term while working on complex and high-profile fire protection projects across the Southeast and beyond.

What You'll Do
- Lead and manage fire protection engineering projects from concept through completion
- Provide engineering and code consulting for fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, BDA/ERCES systems, and special hazard systems
- Perform building and fire code analysis, egress analysis, fire hazard analysis, and alternative methods evaluations
- Review, comment on, and seal engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documents
- Develop performance-based fire protection designs when hazards fall outside prescriptive code requirements
- Conduct site surveys and technical assessments
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, AHJs, and project stakeholders
- Support business development initiatives and help grow Wiginton Fire Protection Engineering in the South Florida market
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to design and sales teams
- Stay current with NFPA standards, code changes, and industry advancements
Qualifications
- Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license required, preferably in Fire Protection Engineering or a related discipline
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field from an ABET-accredited university
- Minimum of 4 years of fire protection engineering experience or related experience as an EIT
- Strong understanding of NFPA codes and standards, building codes, and life safety systems
- Experience with fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and code consulting
- Experience with hydraulic calculations, fire modeling, and CAD-based design documents preferred
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout South Florida as needed
