Delivery Dispatcher – Windows Department
Direct Lumber and Door is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Delivery Dispatcher to join our Windows Department. This role is responsible for coordinating delivery schedules, routing trucks, and serving as a key liaison between sales teams,drivers, and customers to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily delivery schedules and route trucks efficiently
- Communicate with sales teams, customers, and drivers to ensure smooth operations
- Verify next-day deliveries prior to loading and confirm customer approval
- Inspect and verify all outgoing orders against pick tickets
- Manage delivery documentation, including required signatures and records
- Monitor back orders, delivery issues, and damaged materials, and resolve accordingly
- Assign and adjust driver routes to balance workload and maximize efficiency
- Maintain driver logs, trip reports, and ensure regulatory compliance
- Assist with inventory control, including cycle counts and discrepancy reporting
- Support fleet maintenance scheduling and repairs
- Address delivery-related concerns, complaints, and service issues
- Assist in warehouse operations, including loading/unloading when needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
- Previous dispatch experience preferred
- Construction or building materials industry experience preferred
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
