Diesel Engine Technician

Performs diesel engine service and repair including preventive maintenance, removal, installation, disassemble, assemble, recondition, testing, adjusting, technical analysis, troubleshooting, diagnostics, failure analysis, and commissioning (optional).

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Disassembles, assembles, removes, and installs components on Diesel engines as directed by the Marine Technical Support Analyst
  • Performs testing and adjustments on specific engine components as needed
  • Appropriately prepares vessel and workplace to prevent cosmetic or other damage to vessel and the surrounding environment during the work process
  • Remains in contact with Service Advisor and Field Service Supervisor during work process to apprise them of job progress
  • Directs all customer technical, and other inquiries related to work being performed, to Marine Technical Support Analyst
  • Completes, maintains and processes pertinent paperwork and records
  • Processes repair parts cores in accordance with service department procedures
  • Using the CAT Inspect app, properly use the Pantropic Power Contamination Control Inspection Form
  • Using the CAT Inspect app, properly use the Pantropic Power Safety Inspection checklist V1.1
  • Using the CAT Inspect app, properly use the Pantropic Power Service Truck inspection: Safety and Maintenance
  • Using the CAT Inspect app, properly use the Pantropic Power TA1 Marine Engine Inspection Form
  • Using the CAT Inspect app, properly use the Pantropic Power Work Authorization V1.4
