Security Team Specialist I – Continuous (260002G2)This is an open and continuous posting for full-time (40 hours) positions on all shifts.The Lemuel Shattuck Hospital (LSH) is seeking a dedicated candidate for Security Team Specialist I. Security Specialists provide protection and security at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital Campus for its buildings, grounds, equipment, patients, students, visitors, and staff.Please Note: Assigned Days On and Off Discussed at InterviewsShift ScheduleDay Shift 7 AM – 3:30 PMEvening Shift 3 PM – 11:30 PMNight Shift 11 PM – 7 AMDuties and ResponsibilitiesAddress concerns in a timely manner related to possible loss or damage from theft, fire, vandalism, civil disorder, violence, or other causes.Patrol campus buildings, parking lots, and adjacent areas; enforce the Hospital's parking, smoking, and other policies, and the Hospital's traffic and safety regulations.Provide assistance during emergencies to DPH, DMH, and vendor programs on campus.Perform various duties required at fixed posts with a focus on customer service; monitor access control systems; maintain incident and daily logs; and other duties as required.When needed, administer emergency first aid as a designated first responder.Required QualificationsExperience in work involving the protection and/or security of buildings, equipment or individuals.Ability to deal tactfully with others, and to interact with people who are under emotional or physical stress.Can make decisions and act quickly in a dangerous or emergency situation.Read and gather information through interviewing and examining documents.Exercise sound judgment.Preferred QualificationsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Working ConditionsThis position requires lifting and carrying heavy objects, and standing and walking for prolonged periods of time, with or without accommodation.About Lemuel Shattuck HospitalLemuel Shattuck Hospital is a fully Joint Commission accredited teaching facility that provides acute, subacute, and ambulatory care to patients referred by public agencies and private sector providers. Shattuck Hospital's services help economically and socially disadvantaged patients to get high quality, cost-effective care from a staff that respects their dignity. Located in the heart of Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood, the Shattuck Hospital includes 248 inpatient beds including 95 psychiatric beds and 29 correctional health beds. The Shattuck also hosts an outpatient clinic offering treatment to patients of the Department of Mental Health and the Department of Correction. LSH is on the forefront of substance use disorder treatment including a Suboxone clinic serving 200 patients. LSH supports a range of services for patients struggling with addictions and homelessness.A criminal background check will be completed on the recommended candidate as required by regulation. Education, licensure, and certifications will be verified according to the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines.
