Relief Retail Security OfficerPosition DetailsLocation: BirminghamHours: Varied (Relief Position)Shift Pattern: Varied (Relief Position)Hourly Rate: Site dependent, between £12.71 – £15.00 per hourFull UK Driver's License RequiredMain ResponsibilitiesWe believe that the best approach to deterring criminal activity is to understand the vulnerabilities and risks of each location and to tailor our approach to effectively reduce them.As a Relief Security Officer, you will be required to provide a visible deterrent, respond to incidents, complete incident reports, and collaborate with local authorities.Patrolling the shop floor and deterring criminal activityAssessing and identifying vulnerabilities, and working proactively to minimise riskLiaising with management and local authorities when applicableManaging vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid causing distressCompleting colleague and contractor searches when required, in line with customer company policyDigitally reporting incidents and using tablets or phones for daily activity planningProducing detailed and legible incident reports to assist the client and local authoritiesThe PersonTo be an effective Security Officer, you must be a confident communicator, capable of providing detailed verbal and written accounts of criminal activity or incidents. You will need to be welcoming and patient with customers and able to handle conflict in a calm and professional manner.Required Experience and QualificationsYou must hold a valid SIA licence to apply for this role.Previous experience in a retail security role is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.You must be able to provide a full five-year checkable work or education history .Applicants must bring right to work documents and a recent proof of address to the interview.Responsibilities & RequirementsJob descriptions are reviewed regularly.
