What You Will Be Doing
The Propulsion Systems group at Our Client's company is looking for an upbeat, fun, organized, experienced Principal Engineer, Torque Security Calibration to join our growing team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to calibrating the propulsion system, calibration tracking, and understanding supervisory control governing body compliance.
What You Get To Do
- Be responsible for integrating key parts of the software and calibrating all HV and Propulsion related monitoring functions and coordinating vehicle reactions.
- Prototype vehicle calibration and support.
- Translate vehicle functional safety requirements / functional objectives and formulate development and testing plans.
- Work with suppliers (through development phases Alpha, Beta, PV, Product Intent) and with internal teams (Engineering, Architecture, Purchasing, Program Management, Quality, etc.) to ensure successful launch and release.
- Define, complete, and supervise design verification plans and reporting (DVP&R).
- Support production ramp and field issue resolution.
- Develop and implement Vehicle Reaction Testing.
- Provide and report Vehicle Reaction Testing status throughout program development.
- Calibration change management (documentation of calibrations and changes).
- Execute programs through the development process that meet or exceed objectives for performance, drivability, and customer satisfaction.
What You'll Need To Be Successful
Essential:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field is required. Master's degree is preferred.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in propulsion controls, calibration, and/or testing, preferably with EV or Hybrid vehicles.
- 2+ years of experience in Vehicle Reaction Testing and/or Torque Security.
- Proficiency using calibration and measurement tools (e.g., ETAS INCA, ATI Vision, Vector CANape, etc.).
- Proficiency using Vector network and diagnostic tools (e.g., CANalyzer, CANoe, etc.).
- Proficiency using MATLAB / Simulink for model-based design, analysis, and data processing.
- Demonstrated experience with calibration and DVP&R (Design Verification Plan & Report) throughout the full product life cycle.
- Proven ability to analyze, validate, and release hardware and software systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a record of diagnosing complex issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Ability to review and interpret software documentation to understand design intent and functionality.
- Strong technical research, documentation, and communication skills.
- Reactive and/or DFSS black belt is preferred.
