Crossing Guard Job DescriptionJob Title: Crossing GuardCredentials: None required for this position.Education: High school diploma or GEDTraining or experience required: None required for this position.Reports to: Building AdministratorContract: 173 daysSalary Schedule: Crossing Guard Pay ScaleFLSA Classification: Non-exemptEssential Job FunctionsProvide a safe and secure crosswalk for children walking, riding bicycles, etc. at designated school crosswalks.Enforce all District and school policies and rules in the operation of the crosswalk; abide by and enforce all laws dealing with pedestrian traffic at the crosswalk.Report any problems or safety concerns arising at the assigned crosswalk to the Supervisor of Safety and Security and the building administrator.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesSuccessful performance of this job requires good people skills to deal with students, the public, and often difficult situations or people when safety of students is of top priority. It requires following safety and security guidelines and policies in order that students cross streets safely and no harm comes to them at the crosswalks. It requires following school dress standards, being on time, being dependable and handling other district requirements. creativity , initiative, and effective problem solving is required. Creativity, initiative and effective problem solving is important to prevent problems from occurring and to resolve them after they occur. Employees must like working with children.#J-18808-Ljbffr
