In this critical role, you'll manage job orders, coordinate routes, and provide real-time support to independent driver contractors—ensuring on-time deliveries, clear communication, and exceptional service for both drivers and customers.The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, communicates clearly under pressure, and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly.What You'll DoDispatch & OperationsPrepare, assign, and manage daily and next-day job orders and routes for independent driver contractors.Ensure all jobs are allocated efficiently based on priority, coverage, and available resources.Monitor drivers in real time and take corrective action to maintain service levels and on-time delivery performance.Complete end-of-shift scheduled coverage for manager review and reassign routes as needed.Apply ancillary charges to job orders as applicable (e.g., van fees, waiting time).Activate and deactivate drivers in the dispatch system as required.Driver Support & CommunicationProvide logistical and operational support to drivers via phone and email.Communicate special delivery instructions, routing guidance, and pickup/delivery expectations.Assist drivers with questions such as proof of delivery and job status.Report driver and customer issues daily to the Afterhours Operations Manager.Customer Service & AdministrationDeliver outstanding customer service to internal and external customers with professionalism and urgency.Accurately gather and enter all required job order information into the system.Complete daily checklists and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety and attendance standards.Perform additional duties as assigned in support of afterhours operations.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED with 2+ years of customer service experience, preferably in a fast-paced or time-sensitive environment.Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize under pressure.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, customer-focused attitude.Analytical, problem-solving mindset with the ability to make quick, effective decisions.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint) and ability to learn new systems quickly.Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours to meet operational demands.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and flexibility to assist with deliveries when needed.Preferred QualificationsDispatching experience.Background in courier, logistics, or delivery service environments.Why Join Us?Play a key role in keeping critical afterhours operations running smoothly.Health, dental, and vision insurance, plus 401(k) with company match.Tuition reimbursement and professional development opportunities.Generous paid time off: Vacation, sick leave, and holidays.A chance to join a company where your ambition and performance are recognized and rewarded.A values-driven, people-first culture.A chance to see your work make a real impact… fast!Crossroads Courier is an Equal Opportunity / Affidatative Action employer.
