Responsibilities Guide inbound and outbound airplanes to and from the gate.Transport, lift, load, unload, sort and transfer passenger baggage, cargo, and mail material in and out of aircraft bins, belt loaders, or baggage carts in a safe manner.Safeguard customer baggage, air cargo and airmail from weather, loss, theft, damage and/or destruction.Clean aircraft passenger cabins between flights and stock aircraft with needed supplies.Operate heavy equipment such as pushback equipment and maintain visual contact with Wing Walkers to ensure safety.Operate and/or drive motorized equipment including belt loaders, air‐start units, lift trucks, pushback tugs, bag carts, lavatory carts and deicers, or manually push and pull push carts and containers.Move luggage and cargo, tow planes between gates and refill water tanks and lavatories.Receive and record customer baggage, air freight, mail and company materials as required.Pick up, deliver and transport cargo and baggage to and from aircraft, including wheelchairs, strollers, live animals and other vital property of passengers, and prepare related records.Complete paperwork and forms associated with work assignments and enter data into the company information system.Follow company procedures and protocols to operate safely and responsibly.Complete all required training when required by the company, airport authority or customer.Be on time, be prepared and be safe.Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.Physical Requirements Ramp agents must lift, carry, push, pull and move items weighing 70 pounds (32 kg) or more on a regular basis, and repetitively lift 40–50 pound items on raised surfaces. They must be able to carry heavy items up and down narrow jetway stairs, walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl and stoop frequently and for extended periods, work in cramped or high places, be alerted to moving vehicles or aircraft, use radio equipment to communicate with crew and airport authorities, and work outside in all types of weather around jet and machinery noise.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Good communication skills – ability to communicate verbally and/or via radio equipment effectively with flight crew, gate agents and other ground crew.Basic math skills – ability to calculate weight and balance calculations for planes.Computer skills – ability to use computer systems to track cargo and baggage.Problem‑solving skills – ability to troubleshoot issues during loading and unloading.Time‑management skills – ability to manage time effectively to complete tasks efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.Qualifications At least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma, GED or work experience equivalent.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Authorization to work in the United States (if location is in the U.S.) or in Canada (if location is in Canada).Completion of ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification and security.Ability to secure a Customs Seal through the relevant governing agency, if required by customer or role access.One or more years of relevant experience (preferred).Benefits Paid vacation for full‑time qualified employees.Medical, dental and vision coverage for full‑time employees and partial coverage for part‑time employees.Free uniforms and on‑the‑job training for all employees.Company‑matched 401(k) program.Company‑paid employee assistance program.Voluntary life insurance.Travel discounts on car rentals, hotels and cruises.Hourly wage of $19.10.EEO Statement Alliance Ground International is an equal opportunity employer.
