High-Risk Training Instructor (HRTI) - Ground Qualified

Status: Full-Time, Contingent Upon Award (Start date on or around April 15)Location: Maritime Expeditionary Security Group TWO (MESG-2), Training Evaluation Unit (TEU), Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek–Fort Story, Virginia Beach, VASecurity Clearance: Secret (must be eligible at time of award and maintain throughout performance)Travel: Required. Frequent CONUS travel to convoy ranges and field training locations in VA, NC, RI, FL, and other sites in support of high-risk training evolutions; multi-week travel blocks likely depending on training tempo.Background: Vectronais seeking a Ground-Qualified High-Risk Training Instructor (HRTI) to support MESG-2 Training Evaluation Unit (TEU) in delivering high-risk live-fire, convoy, and ground security training in support of Maritime Expeditionary Security Force (MESF) deployment certification.This role supports small arms and crew-served weapons qualifications, tactical convoy operations, ground security tactics, and expeditionary combat skills. The instructor operates in austere environments requiring strict adherence to safety standards, disciplined application of Operational Risk Management (ORM), and the ability to deliver instruction under physically demanding conditions.Day-to-Day Responsibilities:Deliver classroom and practical instruction in Small Arms and Crew-Served Weapons qualifications (CAT II / CAT III)Support Expeditionary Designated Marksman (EDM) instruction and sustainmentExecute Tactical Convoy Training including maneuver and live-fire convoy operationsConduct Ground Security Tactics instruction for Entry Control Points and perimeter defenseSupport Embarked Security Combat Skills range evolutionsServe as Range Safety Officer (RSO) for static and dynamic live-fire rangesConduct day and night courses of fire, including use of night vision devices and laser systemsPerform range setup, vehicle staging, weapons mounting/loading, and target placementConduct operator-level weapons cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairsMaintain Instructor training binder and personalized instructional materialsComplete and maintain required Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS) for watch stations instructedMaintain weapons sustainment qualifications in accordance with Navy directivesTravel to off-site ranges and support Mobile Training Team (MTT) events as requiredApply and enforce all safety procedures and ORM controls during high-risk evolutionsPreferred Education/Degree:Bachelor's degree preferred (Military Studies, Security Studies, Training Management, or related field)Graduate of a certified Navy Instructor Training Course (NEC 9502, 9501, or 9518) or equivalentCrew-Served Weapons Instructor, Small Arms Marksmanship Instructor, or equivalent military qualification preferredPreferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:8+ years of Maritime Expeditionary Security, Riverine, Naval Coastal Warfare, or Special Operations experienceDemonstrated experience conducting small arms and CSW live-fire instructionQualified Navy or civilian-equivalent Range Safety Officer for static and dynamic live-fire rangesExperience conducting tactical convoy operations and maneuver safety oversightFamiliarity with OPNAV high-risk training requirementsStrong application of ORM in live-fire and vehicle maneuver environmentsAbility to operate in austere field conditions and varied weather environmentsPhysical capability to lift up to 50lbs and wear body armor and PPE for extended periodsExcellent verbal communication and instructional delivery skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Honorable discharge (if prior military service) with favorable reenlistment codeVECTRONA IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER AND A DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE.The above information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
