The Security Officer I walks the gaming floor and other areas on property. May transport guests in company vehicles. The Security Officer I is responsible for the security and safety of guests, team members and visitors. The Security Officer I is also responsible for the security and safeguarding of the casino's property and assets. When posted at doors, acts as “first point of contact” with guests, greeting them as they enter the casino. Positions include week-end and holiday shifts.Duties and ResponsibilitiesIdentifies all under‑age patrons seeking to enter any Wind Creek Hospitality facility by requiring valid identification for any patron that appears under the age of 30 yearsWalks the casino floor looking for under‑age patronsWalks the casino floor looking for issues or problems requiring security attentionMaintains focus and concentration in the face of distractionsFollows and adheres to standardized operational proceduresControls alcoholic beverages and ensures that alcohol does not leave the propertyExhibits enthusiasm and provides a warm welcome to patrons entering or leaving the building; outgoing, friendly, helpful personality and a positive attitude to uphold WCH ValuesPrepares written reports to document incidentsTransports guests in company vehiclesOther duties & responsibilities as assignedJob RequirementsHigh School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employmentMust be twenty‑one (21) years of age or olderOne (1) year law enforcement, military, or other security capacity – requiredOR One (1) year of experience in a front of the house position within WC – requiredAND successfully complete at a minimum of 80% pass rate basic Security Officer training program within sixty (60) days of employment – requiredMust be able to meet and maintain a departmental physical fitness standard – required; the security department may conduct a test that is comparable to the below requirements:Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs for a distance of 300 feet within 120 secondsMust be able to climb 4 flights of stairs in 80 secondsMust be able to run 350 ft in 90 secondsAnnually re-test for all physical requirementsMust complete TIPS training and Title 31 training as required as a condition of employmentBasic first aid, CPR and AED certification required within 60 days of employmentMust successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition and report writing exerciseMust be able to stand and/or walk for entire shiftWilling and able to work odd or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidaysWilling to travel and participate in training as recommended or requiredMust have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this positionMust have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environmentMust have a current State driver's license and an insurable driving record; for purposes of driving company vehicles – preferredEOE StatementNative American Indian Preference in hiring policy is adhered to at all times.
