Courthouse Complex Security Deputy
The Wood County Sheriff's Office, located in Bowling Green, Ohio, is seeking dedicated individuals to serve as Courthouse Complex Security Deputies. This role involves providing protection, security and a safe workplace for employees and the public at the Courthouse Complex.
Essential Functions
- Enforce applicable laws within the courthouse complex, grounds, and public defender's office; takes male and female inmates into custody; conducts interviews and investigations; protects property from vandalism and theft; provides courtroom/judge security; responds to panic, intrusion and fire alarms; responds to requests for first aid assistance; performs security rounds.
- Monitors activity through physical and surveillance equipment; screens persons and packages that enter the complex.
- Assist the general public, escorts jurors and other personnel who visit the complex and participate in community policing within the complex.
- Prepares reports and paperwork; perform "book only" on those referred by the court.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized to work in the U.S.
- Valid Ohio driver's license.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current Ohio Peace Officer Academy certification.
- No felony convictions, including expunged records.
- Must be insurable under Wood County's insurance carrier.
- No OMVI, DUS, or reckless operation arrests within the last 3 years.
- No misdemeanor drug convictions within the last 5 years; no felony drug convictions.
- Ability to read and speak English; vision correctable to 20/20.
