Senior Fire Protection Engineer

BR+A is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Protection Engineer in our Boston Office. The ideal candidate will have 10-20 years of experience, an engineering degree, be a registered Professional Engineer, and possess the following abilities:

  • Experience designing Fire Protection systems for Healthcare, Higher Education, and Laboratory projects
  • Proficient in Auto CAD and Revit
  • Experience in specification writing
  • Perform field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects
  • Coordinate with other disciplines
  • Develop Hydraulic calculations for sprinklers and standpipes using computer programs
  • Thorough knowledge of NFPA Codes
  • Basic knowledge of Fire Protection systems including wet, dry and specialty systems
  • Understands work planning and manages the design process to the available hours in the work plan
  • Meets with clients and work with contractors
  • Oversees deliverables to and from clients
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strongly motivated, well organized, shows professional initiative
  • Takes ownership of assignments, works both independently and as part of the project team

Position requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • PE License
  • 10-20 years of related experience
