Senior Fire Protection Engineer
BR+A is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Protection Engineer in our Boston Office. The ideal candidate will have 10-20 years of experience, an engineering degree, be a registered Professional Engineer, and possess the following abilities:
- Experience designing Fire Protection systems for Healthcare, Higher Education, and Laboratory projects
- Proficient in Auto CAD and Revit
- Experience in specification writing
- Perform field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects
- Coordinate with other disciplines
- Develop Hydraulic calculations for sprinklers and standpipes using computer programs
- Thorough knowledge of NFPA Codes
- Basic knowledge of Fire Protection systems including wet, dry and specialty systems
- Understands work planning and manages the design process to the available hours in the work plan
- Meets with clients and work with contractors
- Oversees deliverables to and from clients
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strongly motivated, well organized, shows professional initiative
- Takes ownership of assignments, works both independently and as part of the project team
Position requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- PE License
- 10-20 years of related experience
