FAST TRACK ADVANCEMENT! ***TAKE HOME TRUCK – when eligible.Job SummaryThe Traffic Control Apprentice is responsible for maintaining the flow of traffic around construction zones, maintenance projects, accidents, or other temporary traffic disruption areas. This role ensures the safety of workers, motorists, and pedestrians by maintaining proper traffic control and following all safety guidelines and regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesControl vehicle and pedestrian traffic around work zones using handheld signs, paddles, or flagsSet up, maintain, and remove temporary traffic control work zones including signs, barricades, and cones according to project requirements and regulationsCommunicate clearly with drivers to provide guidance and ensure safe traffic flowMonitor traffic and construction activity to anticipate and respond to potential safety hazardsCoordinate with supervisors and other team members using hand signals, radios, or other communication equipmentAdhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)Warn workers when approaching vehicles fail to heed signals to prevent accidents and injuriesAssist with loading/unloading traffic control equipment as neededPerform other work‑related duties as assignedQualificationsEducationHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredCertificationsAll required certifications will be provided by the companyTraffic Control/Flagger certificationExperienceNo prior experience required; traffic control experience preferredWilling to learn and follow safety proceduresSkills and CompetenciesAbility to receive and communicate instructions clearly, firmly, and courteouslyUnderstand and apply safe traffic control practices, sometimes in stressful situationsStrong attention to detail and focusReliable and professional demeanor at all timesPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods (8+ hours) while maintaining focusAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Ability to work in various weather conditionsPerform repetitive physical tasksMust be able to pass pre‑employment drug screenOutdoor work environment in and around construction zonesExposure to traffic, loud noises, and construction equipmentVariable scheduling may include nights, weekends, and overtime as neededTravel to different work sitesMust have reliable transportationCompensation and BenefitsCompetitive wage with regular increases based on performanceEligibility for higher starting pay based on experienceComprehensive benefits packageOpportunities for advancementCareer pathing program and associated training providedPaid training and certificationOur company is committed to providing a safe work environment and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Helix Traffic Solutions, LLC is an Equal Opportunity & affirmative action employer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
