What You Will DoInteracts with other functional groups (e.g. engineering, manufacturing) on routine technical mattersSetting up and operating various test standsConfiguring test equipment for special tests as neededInterpreting and recording test resultsRecognizing and isolating test equipment failuresTaking electrical measurements to determine select resistors using strong math skillsUsing diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electronic units to the sub‑assembly and component levelReading and interpreting technical data such as component maintenance manuals, engineering prints, and schematicsEffectively communicating work status to team members and support staff (e.g. shift pass down, engineering, maintenance)Perform technical tasks based on detailed written or verbal instructionsUtilize limited variety of microelectronic, electronic, optical, electro‑optical, mechanical, or electromechanical equipment, including computers and lasersPerform entry level troubleshooting, calibration or modification of hardware, fixtures, and softwareParticipate on project teamsApply technical expertise in the evaluation, development, maintenance and use of products, devices, tests, or procedures under constantly changing conditions where some ingenuity and judgment are requiredSupport activities through the resolution of problems and preparation and maintenance of documentationManage work flow throughout area to achieve team goalsEvaluate and troubleshoot non‑conformancesFabricate hardware, equipment, tools or prototypes from drawings or sketchesEstimate labor, material, and manufacturing costs for the building and repair of product or process enhancementProvide accurate recording of time changes, test data, parts usage, etc.; this requires limited data interpretationUtilize multiple databases to create/use necessary information to provide information for decision making requiring limited judgment2nd Shift: 2 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to FridayWill train on 1st Shift for a week before moving to 2nd ShiftYou may occasionally need to provide weekend and holiday support to meet customer needsIn your role, you will be exposed to:Products of various weights and sizesEquipment with moving partsChemicals that may emit fumesTo minimize safety risk to you and product, you must wear static‑control and personal protective equipmentPhysical DemandsDue to the nature of our work, you will need to be able to perform the following functions, with or without reasonable accommodationDistinguishing colors and meeting vision requirementsBending, stooping, reaching, turning as needed to place units in test stands, pick up totes, place units on rack, etc.Using hands for extended periods of time to perform testing and troubleshooting tasks (e.g. grasping, holding, picking, placing, twisting, fine manipulation)Must be able to stand for 2 hour increments without an opportunity to sitMust be able to lift 25 poundsTransporting product with or without product cartsWhat You Will LearnEnhance your skills in testing and troubleshooting in electronic componentsGain insights into reading and interpreting complex technical data and engineering printsLearn best practices in tool handling and workplace safetyDevelop effective communication and teamwork skills within a collaborative environmentQualifications You Must HaveTypically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g., G.E.D in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experienceQualifications We PreferAssociate's degree in Electronics and/or certification in ElectronicsExperience with component level troubleshootingExperience in aerospace industryExperience with thermal tables, vibrational tables, and test rigsExperience with electronics repairSkillBridge Eligibility OverviewMust be eligible to participate in Fellowship per DoD Instruction 1322.29Must be projected to receive an honorable discharge from the militaryMust have all TAP and transition requirements completed prior to the start dateMust receive approval from Unit Commander or O4+ in the chain of commandMust be located within a commutable distance or willing/approved to relocate to the job locationEqual Opportunity EmployerRTX is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
