The selected candidate must pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment (STA).ResponsibilitiesManage Aviation's administrative functions of O'Hare's Vehicle Services dispatch office, ensuring scheduling, manpower, procedures, and productivity for day‑to‑day operations.Assist operational needs of Aviation based on seasonal requirements.Support HR progressive discipline mandates and departmental requirements.Direct the preparation of work schedules, approve changes, and reallocate staff to meet operational needs.Monitor resource availability (vehicles, equipment) and reallocate resources as needed during operational demands, emergencies, and work priorities.Develop and implement protocols and standard operating procedures for dispatching operations, monitoring work operations for efficient resource use.Collaborate with management in establishing performance measures, productivity, and quality work standards.Monitor and evaluate performance of subordinate staff; prepare performance appraisals and evaluations.Attend disciplinary hearings, enforce disciplinary actions, resolve work‑related conflicts or problems with staff, and enforce personnel rules.Plan staff training on operating procedures and use of communications and dispatch systems, radios, and other computerized equipment.Prepare productivity and operational reports for management.QualificationsFour (4) years of supervisory experience in dispatching operations for work crews, large vehicle fleets, or equipment; ORFour (4) years of supervisory experience in a vehicle maintenance program; ORFour (4) years of supervisory experience in road service repair and towing operations; ORFour (4) years of supervisory experience in work operations relating to dispatch of work crews or inspection and repair of water and sewer lines; ORFour (4) years of supervisory experience in a large‑scale customer service center.Applicants must pass a background check and Security Threat Assessment.City of Chicago is an Equal Employment Opportunity, Military Friendly, and Fair Chance Employer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
