DispatcherTransdev in Johnson County, Kansas is hiring a Dispatcher. The Dispatcher oversees road service through communication with Operators and provides customer support to the clients. The above represents the standard Corporate Policy.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee road service assigned carriers by tracking trip performance measures, route begin on time, performance, incidents, etc.Provide customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding customer trips including no shows, cancellations and missed trips.Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators, act as liaison between the carrier and emergency services.Manage daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service.Other duties as required.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED; Technical Degree preferred.Must be 21 years of age or olderValid driver's licenseReliable transportation to and from workCommunicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and via radio.Maintain focus and attention to detail in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.Flexible availability required, including the ability to work weekends.Prior experience in dispatching, particularly in transportation, transit, or logistics environments preferred.Ability to work in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused setting.Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills.Problem‑solving and analytical skills.Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.Physical RequirementsThe essential functions of this position require the ability to:Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per shift) while operating a computer, phone, and radio equipment.Push and pull objects up to 25 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.Tolerate exposure to moderate noise levels typical of a dispatch or operations center.In some cases, step outside to interact with drivers or inspect vehicles, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, vehicle fumes, or outdoor environments.Accommodation and Drug‑Free WorkplaceReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
