Now operating in Missouri, South Carolina, and Virginia, Concordance is a national leader in compassionate, innovative reentry care.Position Overview: The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of Concordance's participants, team members, and facilities. In this role, you will interact with our participants, team members, and visitors and work with a team of Security Officers.Key Responsibilities - your role will involve:Protecting the Concordance's property and team members by conducting interior and exterior rounds, observing for safety and security issues or theft, and monitoring of parking lotsCompleting random drug screens of participantsMonitoring entry to the Concordance Center, including bag searches and security systemsMonitoring video surveillance equipmentResponding to overhead pages and requests for assistanceWriting reports on irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrencesEnforcing security policies and proceduresCollaborating with Concordance team members to ensure the safety and security of Concordance's participants, team members, and facilitiesOccasionally, help set up for Center events or move classrooms around, including but not limited to carrying and setting up tables and chairs.The right candidate will come with the following attributes, education, experience and meet the physical requirements.Passion for Concordance's missionEnergy for a multidisciplinary, team environmentExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong computer skills, including Microsoft OfficeKnowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure effective security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and facilitiesStrong attention to detailRequired Education and LicensingAbility to obtain and maintain an armed security guard license where applicableDriver's LicenseHigher education degree preferredCPR/adult first aid certification preferredSkills and Competencies2+ years of security, military, or law enforcement experiencePrior experience with justice-involved adults or other vulnerable populations preferredPhysical Requirements Full-Time Security OfficerAble to walk and patrol continuously for extended periods of time, indoors and outdoorsAble to stand continuously for extended periods of timeAble to sit for extended periods of timeAble to run and cover distances quickly and efficientlyAble to physically intervene during conflicts and restrain individualsAble to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Able to bend, kneel, squat and reachAble to react and respond quickly and change directions in emergencies and crisis situationsAble to maintain alertness during shiftDemonstrates physical strength and stamina to capture and detain individualsAble to see clearly and pay attention to detail to monitor surveillance equipmentAble to hear clearlyProficiency in using a computer to enter data, write and document notesAble to stay calm and think clearly when under pressure and in stressful situationsAdditional InformationWhy join Concordance?This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a transformative mission and make a lasting impact on the lives of justice-involved individuals.
