Position SummaryThe primary function of a dispatcher is to direct and coordinate the ordering and delivery of materials to customers in the day‑to‑day operations. The dispatcher adheres to and promotes corporate policies and manages the general use of equipment, trucks, delivery personnel, and materials. This employee directs all activities that concern delivery, warehouse, and facilities.Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the fast, accurate processing of sales orders, setting up job's information, confirming and preparing reports that support sales order processing.Processing credit memos on the computer.Assisting customers with will‑call orders.Supervising stocking crews, conducting performance reviews and employee orientation, and coordinating driver training.Scheduling and dispatching crews to maximize time efficiency and monitoring labor costs on each job.Computing payroll accurately and on time.Training new stockers on how to perform the job safely and correctly.Completing new‑hire and training paperwork in a timely manner.Ensuring compliance with the VCR program.Responsible for triple count and job completer program.Responsible for front counter, office/dispatch, restroom and yard/warehouse cleanliness.Responsible for ensuring that trucks are clean.Performing the job in a safe manner.Basic QualificationsHigh school diploma, required; college degree, preferred.Minimum 2 years of related work experience.Strong Microsoft Office skills.Ability to quickly and accurately perform basic math skills.Ability to quickly read a road/geographical map and communicate directions.Organization skills demonstrated in job performance.Demonstrated ability to follow instructions with limited guidance.Ability to self‑manage, show initiative, and be proactive.Communicating professionally, both verbally and in writing to coworkers and customers.Physical RequirementsMust be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 80% of the time; occasionally move around inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.Must be able to operate basic office machinery.Must be able to communicate with team and management and exchange accurate information in these situations.Required Cognitive SkillsMust be able to problem‑solve and prioritize tasks.Must be able to manage stress depending on deadlines and ongoing projects.Must be able to multitask.Must be able to receive and analyze information.Must be able to quickly communicate solutions if problems occur.Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of sound judgment and initiative.CompensationThe base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $25.19 to $32.07 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime based on business needs.
