Applicants do not have to be Georgia P.O.S.T. certified. Applicants who are not already certified will be sent to the Police Academy.Minimum requirements: completion of High School Diploma or GED; twenty-one years of age; pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen and alcohol test, and extensive background investigation; possess a valid State of Georgia driver's license (Class C); have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle RecordBenefits: Health, Life, Dental, Vision, and Short and Long-Term DisabilityGMA defined benefit retirement plan with 5 year vesting and several early retirement options. Higher benefit formula after 10 years.
