Summary You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES DEPARTMENT of NAVWPNSTA. Responsibilities You will develop training and safety programs in accordance with various regulatory agencies (e.g., Department of Defense, Occupational Health and Safety Administration, National Fire Protection Association). You will deliver fire training to inform of daily operations and the use of fire equipment. You will oversee firefighting training areas (e.g., live fire, mobile or fixed training devices inspections, testing, certification and maintenance programs) for an organization. You will verify personnel use the correct personal protection equipment during firefighting incidents to ensure safety. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing assistance, advice, and/or recommendations concerning emergency medical service matters at all levels of commands within the area where emergency medical services are provided; 2) Responsible for the oversight at all districts for the emergency medical service programs; 3) Implementing and/or recommending policies, procedures, and/or operating standards for the program; 4) Developing programs to improve and/or maintain emergency medical system services within the department's area of responsibility; 5) Acts as a consultant to management and operating personnel, providing advice and/or guidance on emergency medical service care, system delivery and on the interpretation and application of policies, regulations and directives relating to emergency medical services.
