Position Overview The Williston Police Department is committed to community policing and welcomes candidates at all experience levels, from first‑time applicants to seasoned officers.Requirements Complete a physical agility test.Pass a written exam if you have less than two years of licensed law enforcement experience.Entry‑Level Path Selected candidates are sponsored to attend the 12‑week North Dakota Peace Officer Training Academy in Bismarck, ND, to obtain a peace officer license.Compensation Entry Level – Police Recruit: $55,692 (salary during academy). Police Officer: $65,520 (salary upon completion and license attainment). City of Williston offers a $2,500 recruitment bonus.Lateral – $65,520 to $85,489, DOE. Prior licensed law enforcement experience may be credited at the department's discretion. Eligible lateral applicants receive a $5,000 recruitment bonus.Benefits Paid leave (vacation, sick, holidays), fully funded health insurance for single and family plans, retirement, life insurance, dental, vision, FSA, and deferred compensation.#J-18808-Ljbffr
