We are leaders in plasma‑derived medicines and transfusion medicine and develop, produce and market innovative medicines, solutions and services in more than 110 countries and regions.POSITIONCenter Medical SpecialistPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESPromote customer satisfaction through appropriate interaction and responsiveness to customer needs.Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction and support long‑term donation.Select suitable plasmapheresis donors by performing physical examinations and taking medical histories on all donors, using FDA‑approved SOP manuals, current State and Federal guidelines, OSHA, CLIA, CGMP, and internal company procedures.Provide donor awareness of potential hazards.Administer donor consent forms.Provide donor education on trends identified from general health assessments completed at the Center.Provide counseling to donors regarding unacceptable test results.Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.Perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability.Ensure donor medical information is complete and accurate prior to donation.Review donor screening tests to ensure eligibility for continued donation.Assist in employee training and coaching regarding medical SOPs as necessary.Assist with the administration of employee Hepatitis vaccine program.Maintain supplies necessary to perform job duties.Maintain and ensure proper sanitation and cleaning of equipment and work areas between donors.Ensure donor and staff confidentiality.Report all unsafe situations or conditions to Center Management.Perform other duties as required.JOB REQUIREMENTSEducated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (or equivalent), Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocation Nurse, Paramedic or Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant.ATTRIBUTESWork performed in a plasma center, exposure to biological fluids and potential infectious organisms, exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment, exposure to extreme cold (below 32 °F) while operating plasma freezers, and requirement for personal protective equipment such as eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold gear.
