Entry-Level Firefighter
Harris County ESD#50 (Channelview Fire Department) will be accepting applications for the position of Entry-Level Firefighter. Individuals interested in testing must submit a completed application with a valid e-mail address and supporting documentation to apply. Please attach DL, TCFP, & EMT certs. You must be currently certified to qualify for this position. The selection process will consist of an agility test, an interview, and a SCBA confidence drill.

Harris County Emergency Service District #50 (Channelview Fire Department) provides fire and emergency medical services to over 38,000 residents in an unincorporated area of eastern Harris County, Texas. Harris County Emergency Service District #50 (Channelview Fire Department) encompasses approximately 19 square miles that produces over 4,662 responses for emergency service per year.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 21 Years of age
- TCFP Basic Firefighter certification
- TDH EMT-Basic or higher certification
Job Benefits
- Shift: 48/144 (2 days on 6 days off) four shift rotation (A, B, C, D)
- Probationary Firefighter/EMT salary of $53,005.68 ($24.27 hourly)
- Salary after Year 1-$58,007.04- ($26.56 hourly)
- No Social Security Withheld
- Paid Time-Off (PTO) Max accrual 500hrs
- Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS) 2:1 matching
- Medical, life, dental, and vision insurance programs available (current Cigna) for employee and family
- Next Level Urgent Care/Family Practice available to employee and family at no charge
- Uniform Stipend $450 annually
- Monthly Certification Incentive Pay
- Paid Gym Membership and Health Incentives
- Monthly Certification Incentive Pay - up to $100/month
