Access Control TechnicianJob SummaryThe Access Control Technician is responsible for the installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of electronic fences, gate operators, access control barriers, and related security technologies. This role requires strong technical proficiency, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInstall, program, and configure electronic fencing systems, gate operating equipment, and access control barriersPerform routine and corrective maintenance, including troubleshooting system faults and restoring functionalityIntegrate access control components with security platforms, networking equipment, and building management systemsProvide technical support and training to customers and end-users on system operation and maintenanceDocument all work performed, including installation details, service reports, and system performance notesEnsure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and company proceduresRespond to service calls and customer inquiries in a timely, professional mannerQualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or an associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or related fields preferredExperience: Minimum of 2 years working with access control, electronic security, or gate operating systemsTechnical SkillsProficiency in programming and configuring access control systemsKnowledge of electronic fencing and gate operator technologiesUnderstanding of networking fundamentals and system integrationCompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagramsEffective verbal and written communication skillsCertifications: CACT or similar credentials preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, kneel, squat, and reach for extended periodsAbility to lift and move up to 50 lbs.Regular use of hands and fingers to operate tools and equipmentVisual requirements include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focusWork EnvironmentWork performed around moving mechanical parts and electrical componentsOccasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise levelsWork may occur indoors or outdoors depending on project needsReasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilitiesRequirementsMinimum of 2 years of experience installing or servicing automated gate systems, access control systems, or electronic security equipment preferred.Experience with commercial gate operators such as LiftMaster, DoorKing, HySecurity, FAAC, Nice, Viking, or similar manufacturers is a plus.Knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and wiring.Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment.Familiarity with gate operators, access control systems, and safety devices.Basic networking knowledge is preferred.Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and climb.Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including Arizona heat.Safely use ladders, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.Possess visual acuity necessary to inspect equipment, read schematics, and perform detailed technical work.#J-18808-Ljbffr
