OverviewParamedic, Full Time NightsPiedmont Eastside Medical Center - Emergency DeptWe are looking for positive, self‑motivated, engaged and excited for growth individuals to join our team38 Bed Emergency Department that sees on average 160 patients a day with various acuitiesWe are a primary Stroke and STEMI receiving facility that can intervene and administer thrombolyticsTwo helicopter pads on campus for utilizationFive PODs in our department, depending on acuity, to which patients are assignedBehavioral Health PodStaff includes Charge Nurses, ED Flow Coordinators, Paramedics, ED Techs, PCTs, Mental Health Technicians and Unit Secretaries who work closely with ED Providers to provide exceptional careAll staff members must have BLS. RNs must have ACLS and PALS. NIH highly preferred, must be obtained within allotted timeframeResponsibilitiesThe Paramedic, under the supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse and/or Physician, is responsible for facilitating age‑appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, educating patients and families, collecting information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology. The Paramedic participates in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of health care services and tasks. The role of the Paramedic Nurse Extender includes patient advocacy, teaching, performance improvement, and oversight of unlicensed personnel.Key ResponsibilitiesMust have a working knowledge of intramuscular, sublingual, oral, rectal, nebulizers, intravenous, and intravenous push medications – including effects, side effects, drug‑to‑drug interactions, and anaphylaxis protocol. Also knowledgeable about venous blood sampling and cardiac monitor use.Working knowledge of body systems, including neurological, respiratory, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and primary and secondary trauma assessment.Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; able to work with a team.
