Job PurposeThe Alamance County Sheriff's Office is currently seeking applicants for a full‑time Sworn Deputy to assist in the Patrol Division. Under occasional supervision, an employee in this position performs a variety of general law‑enforcement work for Alamance County in one of the major divisions of the Sheriff's Office including uniformed patrol, civil courts, and criminal investigations. After becoming familiar with duties and responsibilities, the employee is expected to always display actions that demonstrate protection of lives, property, and the rights of citizens within Alamance County.Work ScheduleThis is an FLSA non‑exempt position. Deputies work 12‑hour shifts, including holidays and weekends, and are required to wear a uniform. The Sheriff's Office has two permanent day shifts (6 a.m.–6 p.m.) and two permanent night shifts (6 p.m.–6 a.m.) within the Patrol Division. Shift assignments are determined by Patrol Administration.
