Surveillance Specialist:
The Surveillance Specialist is responsible for monitoring and ensuring the safety and security of all Cayuga Nation enterprises, including gaming facilities, retail outlets, and other properties. This role involves using surveillance equipment to observe activities, detect suspicious behavior, and report incidents in real time. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a high-pressure environment, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of Cayuga Nation's operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor Surveillance Systems:
Operate and monitor CCTV systems, including cameras and recording devices, across all Cayuga Nation properties.
Maintain a constant watch on all monitored areas, focusing on gaming floors, cash handling areas, and other sensitive locations.
Incident Detection and Reporting:
Identify and report any suspicious activities, policy violations, or illegal conduct to the appropriate authorities or departments.
Document and log all surveillance activities and incidents, ensuring accurate and detailed records.
Collaboration with Security Teams:
Work closely with on-site security personnel to coordinate responses to incidents and ensure a swift and effective resolution.
Provide live video support to security teams during incidents, assisting in real-time decision-making.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
Ensure all surveillance activities comply with local, state, and federal laws, as well as with Cayuga Nation's internal policies and procedures.
Participate in regular audits and reviews of surveillance practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine checks and maintenance on surveillance equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the Surveillance Manager for timely resolution.
Confidentiality and Data Security:
Handle all surveillance footage and related data with strict confidentiality.
Ensure that all records are stored securely and access is restricted to authorized personnel only.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience in surveillance, security, or law enforcement is preferred.
Experience in a gaming or retail environment is a plus.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Additional training or certifications in security or surveillance are desirable.
Skills:
Proficient in the use of surveillance systems and technology.
Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Basic knowledge of legal regulations related to surveillance and privacy.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods while monitoring surveillance feeds.
Must have good vision, including the ability to distinguish colors and details on video monitors.
Work Schedule:
Full-time position with shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on the operational needs of Cayuga Nation enterprises.
This position will require primarily 11 PM - 7 AM shift, but MAY include 3:00 PM - 11:00PM or 7 AM - 3 PM Shifts on a voluntary basis.
