The part-time Security Officer at the Branson Convention Center, a Legends Global managed facility, plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of all guests, staff, and property by monitoring and patrolling the facility. This role supports the full-time security staff by providing shift coverage during leave, events, peak activity times, and as-needed operational support. Part-time Security Officers play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of all guests, staff, and property during events and routine operations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security camera and parking systems as well as maintaining active coverage of the Command Office
- Conduct routine patrols of the facility to ensure a safe and secure environment for patrons, staff, vendors, and event participants
- Monitor crowd behavior and intervene in disturbances or unsafe situations in a calm and professional manner
- Promptly respond to emergencies, alarms, or incidents in accordance with venue policies, and escalate to management or law enforcement when appropriate
- Complete detailed and accurate incident reports; participate in post-incident reviews with management
- Inspect doors, windows, gates, stairs, escalators, parking lots, parking garages, and other safety systems to ensure proper function and facility security
- Assist with access control, crowd management, and building lockdown or evacuation procedures as needed
- Maintain logs of key distribution, equipment usage, and shipping/receiving documentation
- Deliver exceptional customer service while interacting professionally with clients, guests, employees, and exhibitors
- Support event operations as needed, including serving as parking attendant, alcohol monitor, crowd control officer, or dock marshal
- Remain flexible and responsive to dynamic event needs, including changes in post assignments or responsibilities
- Work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules and facility needs
- Perform additional duties and special assignments as required to support facility safety and operations
- Previous experience in security, public safety, or a related field is preferred
- Familiarity with security protocols in a venue, event, or public assembly environment is a plus
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills with the ability to stay composed in high-pressure situations
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills; ability to follow directions and relay information clearly
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with security systems and two-way radios
- Physically able to patrol on foot for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and respond quickly to emergencies; must be comfortable working in varying noise levels and environments
- Flexible, dependable, and adaptable to changing needs, schedules, and priorities
- Team-oriented with a professional demeanor and commitment to maintaining a safe, welcoming atmosphere
- Must hold or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED and Trained Crowd Manager (TCM) training
- Must be legally authorized to operate a motor vehicle in the United States
