Your RoleTetra Tech, Inc. is looking for a qualified unexploded ordnance (UXO) Technician II on a part‑time as‑needed basis.ResponsibilitiesProperly store explosive materials per applicable guidance.Determine precise location in the field environment using a variety of techniques such as the use of global positioning equipment, or basic land navigation techniques using tape and compass.Prepare an on‑site holding area to temporarily stow munitions and explosives of concern (MEC) that has an acceptable risk of movement.Operate modes of transportation for transporting UXO, for which the risk of movement has been determined acceptable, when appropriate.Perform limited technical supervision of UXOSP and UXO Tech.Escort personnel who are not directly involved in UXO‑related operations (e.g., personnel performing environmental monitoring) but have activities to perform within exclusion areas.Inspect material potentially presenting an explosive hazard (MPPEH) for the presence of explosive safety hazards.Other duties that may be assigned.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
