General duties and responsibilities include providing security services to a variety of clients such as Federal government, manufacturing and distribution facilities, schools and colleges, religious institutions, retail sites, and any other fixed or temporary location as needed or required.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProtect property and livesMonitor entrance/egress of propertyIdentify visitors and ask for appropriate documentationGuard against theft and maintain securityRespond to alarms and calls of distressComplete accurate daily & incident reports by recording observations, information occurrences and surveillance activitiesPrevent passage of prohibited vehicles into restricted areasPrevent access to unauthorized personsInspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational useRegulate and monitor building systemsInspect windows and doors to ensure locks are in place and workingComplete all required security logsCommunicate effectively with client management, employees, and visitorsQualificationsHigh School diploma or GEDAt least 21 years of age and legally possess a firearmOperate a firearm, pass firearms qualification courses and obtain appropriate licensures (Security Guard Permit – MS Department of Public Safety, Firearm Permit Division)Maintain professionalism and wear a uniform neatly and correctlyExcellent customer service skills verbally and in writingAlertness and ability to appropriately deal with escalated and crisis/emergency situationsAbility to multi‑taskAbility to operate a computer and other security devicesAbility to obtain required training and licensures as needed by client and statePhysical DemandsExpectations include, but are not limited to, one or more of the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.EEO StatementEOE/M/F/VET/Disabilities.
