Community Based Corrections District 3 is seeking a Probation Parole Officer 2 based in Sheldon, Iowa to join our team. Assigned work unit is Sheldon Field.
Responsibilities:
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Supervise Probation, Parole and Work Release clients
- Maintain a thorough and detailed case file for each client including completion of assessments and case management plans.
- Prepares and presents accurate written and oral reports on clients for the courts, parole board, administrative hearings, and in-house staffing and outside agencies in compliance with established deadlines. Such reports may include presentence, probation/parole violation reports or reports for modification of supervision.
- Documents client-related contacts and strictly adhere to department policy and the Iowa Code as they relate to the confidentiality of records. Reviews the court order and aligns available resources to address expectations. On a regular basis, maintain case records for clients under supervision in the statewide Management Information System ensuring the necessary documentation is timely and accurate.
- Addressing and help facilitate resolution to issues that arise with clients, such as violating behaviors and/or community safety concerns, or other critical issues while utilizing evidence-based approach.
- Mandatory facilitation and/or co-facilitation of cognitive behavioral or other evidence-based groups.
- Follows lesson plans, role models professional behavior and tends to classroom management.
