Job Title: Limited Term Grant Funded (LTGF) Crime Analyst (Programmer Systems Analyst 1G)Grade: G18Division: Major Crimes Division – Gun Crime UnitLocation: MarylandAbout the PositionEntry‑level professional work. The incumbent will serve as the primary liaison and coordinator between the Gun Crimes Unit, Homicide Unit, and Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) for cases involving violent repeat offenders. The role analyzes and manages data related to violent crimes and offenders to support investigative, intelligence, and enforcement efforts. The analyst also utilizes advanced knowledge of law enforcement databases to gather, analyze, and disseminate critical information on violent crime trends and specific offenders, and coordinates the PGPD Violated Repeat Offender Program.This Limited Term Grant Funded position supports the Police Department's Violent Crime Reduction Initiative and helps reduce gaps in services, fostering collaboration among partner agencies and stakeholders.Examples of WorkAccesses and analyzes information from multiple law enforcement databases (Linx, NCIC, MD Case Search, Federal BOP, State BOP, Clear, RMS, LGC Mainframe, DC/VA/Federal Case Search, Gun Offender Registry, JAIC, DC SOCC reports, Federal and State Probation/Parole Releases, MD Property search, Pawn databases, Gang Database, NIBIN, E‑Trace, ATF, FBI and DEA reports).Analyzes information from social media (Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, X, YouTube, Facebook).Identifies patterns and trends in violent crime to support proactive enforcement strategies.Monitors and tracks violent repeat offenders, providing detailed analysis and reports to the Gun Crimes Unit, Homicide Unit, and CGIC.Coordinates efforts between the Gun Crimes Unit, Homicide Unit, and CGIC to ensure effective case management, intelligence, and communication.Provides analytical support for ongoing investigations, including surveillance, data extraction, and case file management.Assists in preparing and presenting cases for prosecution by compiling and synthesizing relevant data.Maintains strong working relationships with various law‑enforcement agencies and other stakeholders involved in violent crime investigations.Facilitates sharing of intelligence and information across agencies to ensure a unified approach.Prepares comprehensive reports, including data‑driven recommendations for action based on analysis.Maintains accurate records of all analytical work, ensuring data is accessible for court proceedings or strategic planning.Engages with community stakeholders to provide information and support on violent crime issues.Participates in public presentations and educational outreach to promote violent crime prevention efforts.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or business administration.Six (6) months experience in data processing.Preferred QualificationsExtensive experience in law‑enforcement investigations, focusing on violent crime.Proficiency with law‑enforcement databases and analytical tools.Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, able to identify patterns and trends in complex data.Excellent communication and coordination skills, able to work effectively with multiple agencies.Ability to prepare clear, concise reports and present complex information effectively.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.Conditions of EmploymentPossess and maintain a valid driver's license.Be willing to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate required proficiency.Wear and use agency protective apparel and equipment as needed.Successfully pass pre‑employment checks (reference checks, background investigations, drug screening).Be willing and able to serve as an essential employee, reporting during standard or non‑standard hours or during emergencies.Equal Opportunity Statement: Prince George's County Government is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer Committed to Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace.Tentative Interview Dates: July 20‑31, 2026.#J-18808-Ljbffr
