Specifically, this includes leading the planning, design, and commissioning of:Building fire protection systemsBuilding fire suppression systemsBuilding fire alarm systemsAdditionally, this role involves coordination with support disciplines and regional offices, assisting project managers, following quality assurance and control plans, and periodic travel to project sites.Abilities and attributes needed:Knowledge of fire protection, suppression, and alarm principlesMentoring and training technical staffInterfacing with clients on project design, delivery, and constructionManaging project budgets and schedulesOverseeing fire protection design throughout project phasesUtilizing BIM design software for drawingsUsing software-based calculation tools for design calculationsManaging multiple assignments concurrentlyTime management and product quality responsibilityFollowing Quality Assurance and Quality Control PlansContinuing education based on project and team needsRequirementsBachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited universityLicensed Professional Engineer with Fire Protection examination5-10 years of experience in building design and constructionKnowledge of fire protection engineering principlesExperience overseeing fire protection designs for building projectsStrong communication skillsExperience with Autodesk RevitProficiency with MS Office SuitePreferred SkillsExperience with AIA MasterSpecKnowledge of Federal Agencies design criteriaGrow With UsGarver offers professional memberships, industry licenses, continuing education, and a supportive environment for leadership development.
