This position performs protective service work to maintain safety and security within the facility. Provide information to other facilities by email, phone or in written form. Handle complaints, settling disputes and resolving conflicts between inmates. Ensuring all paper work correct for all new intake of inmates and all discharges of inmates. Complete knowledge in the RMS system, Dynamic Imaging, Predatory Offender registration system, radio usage, telephone system first aid, CPR and Minnesota Repository of Arrest Photos. Ability to control extremely stressful situations yet still stay calm enough to provide the aid and assistance that is needed at that time for that situation to that inmate. Have intimate understanding of the Use of Force Statute and the ability to apply that statute to that situation, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Jail Administrator.Education and ExperienceMinimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred Qualifications: Associates/technical degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Special RequirementsMust possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive in the State of Minnesota.Must comply with all federal and state laws and organizational and departmental policies and regulations.Must satisfactorily complete pre-employment psychological evaluation and background check.Must submit to fingerprinting through the FBI and MN BCA.Must obtain and maintain required certifications to perform the essential functions as required.Salary/Benefits : Starting wage is $27.33 per hour plus health insurance, life insurance, retirement plan, vacation/sick/holiday pay and many other voluntary benefits.Salary range is $27.33 - $38.68Contact information:Telephone: 507-357-8579 - Fax: 507-357-8607Deadline: Open until filled.
