The Belfast Police Department is a full‑service police department serving the citizens and visitors of the City of Belfast. The officers strive to deliver police services in an innovative, professional and compassionate manner and work hard to partner with the community to address its concerns and make this City a great place to live, work, and play.The successful candidate will serve under the direct supervision of the Police Sergeant and work effectively as a team with our officers and City Departments. The Patrol Officer must have background and experience in all matters related to the enforcement of all laws coming within the department's legal jurisdiction, and the protection of lives and property through the supervision and administration of the department.The Patrol Officer must have a demonstrated record of ethical leadership that creates a cohesive work environment and garners the confidence and respect of the Belfast Police Department staff as well as members of the community. The Patrol Officer must have excellent internal and external communications skills, be results driven, and foster a work environment that promotes employee involvement and accountability. This position works a four on, four off schedule and will be Step I with a base rate pay of $30.90 an hour for the first six months; then moves to Step II with a base pay of $31.70 an hour in addition to a competitive benefits package.
