Overview

The Grants and Contracts Coordinator will be responsible for applying for federal and State funding and reviewing compliance of current grants and permits awarded to Parks and Recreation. The main role of this position is to obtain grant funding, monitor permitted governance from FLO, US Corp of Engineers and other federal and state agencies.

Responsibilities

• Researches and identifies potential funding sources including public, private, state, and federal organizations to support funding needs and programs

• Prepares, negotiates, and reviews company contracts including sales, purchases, business partnerships with the City and ensure the city complies with guidelines established by state federal laws and ordinances

• Stays up to date with legislative and local changes and coordinate with the Legal Department and Intergovernmental affairs as needed

• Conducts audits to check for potential compliance issues

• Prepares grant proposals including authoring grant proposals drafts for management review, sourcing required documents and obtaining approval from the City of Corpus Christi Leadership and Director of Finance or governing body as required for the submission of the grant

• Conducts workshops and training to support staff members to ensure proper understanding and implementation of grant compliance rules

• Develops and implements policies and procedures to prevent non-compliance with grant terms and conditions

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work

• Exempt - Full-Time

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

• In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS)

• Two (2) Years of experience

Certifications, Licenses or other requirements

Required

• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Preferred

• Experience working with Grant Agencies

Basis of Rating

A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview
