Fire Systems/Alarm Project Manager
This position is for an experienced Fire Systems Project Manager responsible for the execution of low voltage system projects. The role involves managing projects to ensure they are within budget and compliant with relevant codes. This individual will oversee the field operations team, work closely with sales and installation teams, and interface with clients to ensure professional project delivery from design to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide oversight for all project phases, including coordinating workers, materials, and equipment.
- Manage project financials, including job costs, billing, budgets, and executing to estimated gross margins.
- Handle computer-based tasks using Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word to track budgets and manage projects.
- Manage and provide guidance to project technicians and field teams, including visiting job sites.
- Interface with customers, contractors, end users, and fire marshals.
- Read and interpret system designs on blueprints and project specifications.
Required Qualifications
Two or more years of experience with commercial fire detection/suppression systems is required. Candidates with a background in life safety, including fire alarm, low voltage, and access controls, will also be considered.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word is needed to manage budgets and track financials. An understanding of fire alarm, suppression, and security systems is necessary. A strong working knowledge of NFPA72 code requirements and OSHA safety standards is also required.
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET level II certification is highly preferred.
- An electrical background is a plus.
- Demonstrated soft skills, including a positive attitude and good character.
