Physical Security Specialist
If you are selected for this position, you will perform the following duties:
- Primary security official responsible for the coordination and execution of the FTC executive protection program. Serving as the technical expert in the establishment and execution of the executive protection program, to include development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and service announcements.
- Overall responsibility for the security planning for off-site (local area and travel) events attended by the FTC Chairman and / or Commissioners (i.e. Protectees). Applicable coordination and event security requirements may shift per event locations and the threat environment.
- Coordinate with local and federal law enforcement, intelligence, and security agencies, maintains oversight and associated situational awareness for possible or actual threats/risks that may impact FTC operations, facilities, or staff at each FTC office location, to include the Regions.
- Assess intelligence information and/or open source (media) reporting, law enforcement reporting, and use of social media technologies, traverse the threat landscape for possible risks to the FTC, ensuring applicable FTC leadership is updated on findings, assisting leadership with mitigation and reporting activities.
- Incumbent advises Agency managers on new developments and advances in Insider Threat (InT) detection related techniques; planning, organizing, and directing studies to develop long range studies and forecasts; evaluating and making recommendations concerning overall plans and proposals for FTC InT assessments. Collects and analyzes data that is essential for assessing the success of the FTC's InT Program.
- Leads and coordinates teams and projects concerned with the collection, review, interpretation, correlation, and analysis of employee related data to identify behavior potentially indicative of an insider threat. Leads working groups to identify and implement recommendations to improve overall functions, operations, and performance. Researches and interprets federal laws and regulations, policies, and procedures to advise on intent and application of concepts and principles to individual situations.
- Prepares, manages, and executes policies, procedures, training material, and staff awareness governing the FTC's Operations Security (OPSEC) program. Reviews and recommends updates to the FTC's Critical Information List (CIL) Policies and Procedures no less than annually or as required based upon mission requirements.
