First Responder Speaker | MADD (Worthington, MN)

As a First Responder Speaker with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), you'll help educate court-ordered offenders by sharing how responding to an impaired driving crash personally impacted you. By giving voice to the emotional and lasting effects these incidents can have on first responders, you'll help others understand that impaired driving affects far more than those directly involved in a crash.

MADD's Victim Impact Panels are educational presentations for court-ordered offenders that combine prevention education with personal stories from those whose lives have been changed by impaired driving. Your willingness to share your experience can encourage accountability, promote empathy, and help prevent future tragedies.

What You'll Do

Working alongside MADD staff and fellow volunteers, you will:

• Share your personal experience responding to an impaired driving crash and how it affected you both professionally and personally.
• Help participants understand the far-reaching impact impaired driving has on first responders, victims, families, and communities.
• Participate in Victim Impact Panels as part of a supportive volunteer team.
• Help create a respectful environment that encourages learning, accountability, and positive change.

Volunteer Details & Benefits

This opportunity is ideal for current or retired law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS professionals, dispatchers, and other first responders who are passionate about community education, traffic safety, victim advocacy, public speaking, and making a meaningful difference.

As a volunteer, you will:

• Continue serving your community through education and prevention.
• Share your story in a meaningful way that can help prevent future impaired driving tragedies.

Volunteer Requirements

• Ages 18+
• Current or former first responder with personal experience responding to an impaired driving incident that had a lasting impact.
• Comfortable sharing your story with groups in an educational setting.
