Armed School Security Officer – ACT 235
Perry County, PA | $22.00/Hour | Full-Time | Academic-Year Schedule Positions Begin September 2026
Looking for a meaningful armed security position with consistent hours, competitive pay, and the opportunity to make a positive impact?
KRE Security, LLC is hiring professional, dependable ACT 235-certified Armed Security Officers for a school district assignment in Perry County. In this role, you will help maintain a safe, welcoming environment while building positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
Compensation & Benefits
Starting pay: $22.00 per hour
Additional $0.25 per hour for military veterans and active-duty service members
Overtime paid for hours worked over 40 per week in accordance with applicable law
Academic-year schedule beginning September 2026
Health benefits available to eligible full-time employees averaging 30+ hours per week after 90 days
Up to 40 hours of paid time off, with accrual beginning after completion of the probationary period
Company vehicle provided while working
Opportunities to earn additional hours at after-school events
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a visible, professional armed security presence
Patrol school property and monitor entrances, access points, and surrounding areas
Identify and report safety or security concerns
Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies
Enforce district policies, post orders, and site procedures
Complete accurate daily activity and incident reports using Belfry Software
Communicate effectively with school personnel, supervisors, and fellow officers
Build respectful, professional relationships with students, staff, and families
Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years old
Current Pennsylvania ACT 235 certification and valid concealed carry permit
Level II or Level III retention holster
Must obtain KRE's in-house Phazzer certification
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the client site
Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills
Dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and work in various environments
Flexible availability for occasional after-school events
Previous security, military, law enforcement, or school-security experience is preferred but not required
Must attend an in-person orientation before being scheduled

Candidates must pass all required background screenings and be willing to obtain or provide the following before beginning the assignment:
Pennsylvania State Police PATCH
Child Abuse History Clearance
FBI Fingerprinting for School Employees
Act 24
Act 168
Act 67
Mantoux tuberculosis test
