The New York State Unified Court System is seeking an Assistant Deputy Counsel in the Office of Court Administration Continuing Legal Education Unit in New York, NY. The Assistant Deputy Counsel will report to the Counsel to the NYS Continuing Legal Education Board as part of a team administering the mandatory CLE program. The Assistant Deputy Counsel should enjoy working in a time-sensitive, demanding environment and have supervisory experience; the ability to analyze legal materials effectively; and strong verbal and written communication skills.Key Responsibilities:Reviewing and analyzing CLE program and provider applications, including evaluating legal content, assessing whether standards have been satisfied, and supervising analysts' review of applications and preparation of final determination letters.Managing receipt and review of provider reports and information and performing related data analytics for preparation of reports.Collaborating as part of a team to plan and administer the annual statewide CLE Provider conference.Conducting periodic information sessions for new CLE providers.Drafting CLE Board policy proposals and preparing supporting materials.Coordinating logistics for CLE Board meetings and distributing information to Board members throughout the year.Responding to inquiries from CLE program providers and New York licensed attorneys regarding CLE requirements.Developing correspondence tracking systems to support office operations.Creating accessible digital forms and collaborating with technology teams and other stakeholders on system improvements.Training staff and managers in new technology and software.Performing related duties as assigned.Applicants with experience in database development, data analysis, accessible and instructional design, learning management systems, and video creation are encouraged to apply.
