Position OverviewEssnova Solutions is seeking an Instructional Systems Designer to support FEMA's National Training and Education Division and Training Partners Program. The selected candidate will evaluate training materials and support the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of courses and curricula.ResponsibilitiesReview and analyze training materials.Apply the ADDIE instructional-design model.Conduct or support training-needs and learner analyses.Support course and curriculum design and development.Assist with implementation and evaluation activities.Review courses and curricula for instructional effectiveness and quality.Recommend improvements to training materials and instructional approaches.Coordinate with subject-matter experts, project personnel, and government stakeholders.Support emergency-management training and education initiatives.RequirementsRequired QualificationsAt least two years of instructional-design experience.Demonstrated knowledge of learning models and adult-learning principles.Demonstrated experience using the ADDIE process:AnalysisDesignDevelopmentImplementationEvaluationExperience reviewing training materials, courses, or curricula.Experience supporting instructional quality and continuous improvement.Strong written, analytical, and organizational skills.Ability to qualify for a federal Public Trust background investigation.EducationBachelor's degree.Preferred QualificationsFEMA, DHS, or federal instructional-design experience.Emergency-management, homeland-security, preparedness, or disaster-training experience.Experience developing instructor-led, virtual, online, or blended training.Experience working with government subject-matter experts.Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility requirements.Additional InformationThis position is contingent upon contract award. The anticipated workload is part-time and based on government training requirements.
