Deputy Sheriff

The McPherson County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for a Full-time Deputy Sheriff, 12-hour shift position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing general law enforcement services to those within the jurisdictional limits of the agency, preserving public peace, protecting life and property, preventing crime as well as the constitutional rights of all citizens encountered.

All work equipment will be supplied, including a take-home vehicle. McPherson County offers competitive benefits and paid time off.

Hourly non-certified people starting at $24.00 and certified people starting at $24.96 + depending on qualifications.

Position requirements include but are not limited to: United States citizen, high school diploma or equivalent, 21 years of age, valid Kansas driver's license, good moral character and no felony or domestic violence convictions.

Applicants must successfully pass a criminal background investigation, psychological examination, drug and alcohol screening, a written test and physical agility examination.
