Deputy Sheriff

The Borden County Sheriff's Office is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Full-Time Deputy Sheriff. This is a newly added position to support law enforcement and community safety throughout Borden County.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol county roads, highways, and local areas
  • Serve civil processes and enforce traffic laws
  • Conduct felony and misdemeanor investigations
  • Respond to community complaints and concerns
  • Respond to assist emergency services (Fire and EMS) as needed
  • Assist with public events and school-based educational programs
  • Work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Take on-call shifts

Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • TCOLE Certification or currently enrolled in the certification process
  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • Must reside in Borden County upon hire
  • Successful completion of background check and drug screening
  • Preferred: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification, or ability to obtain
