The department offers structured training, clear policies, and support for officers to perform their duties safely and effectively.Role Description The Patrol Officer is a full-time, on-site position located in Emerson, GA, responsible for maintaining public safety, deterring crime, and enforcing laws and ordinances. On a day-to-day basis, the Patrol Officer will conduct vehicle and foot patrols, respond to calls for service, perform traffic enforcement, and complete detailed incident and accident reports. The role includes investigating suspicious activities, conducting preliminary criminal investigations, and providing assistance and referrals to community members in need. The Patrol Officer will also manage emergency situations, coordinate with other first responders, and participate in community policing initiatives such as outreach events and safety education. The position requires adherence to department policies, regular attendance at training sessions, and the ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Physical Security and Law Enforcement skills, including situational awareness, patrol techniques, and basic investigative abilities.Candidates should possess effective Communication and Customer Service skills to interact respectfully with community members, colleagues, and partner agencies.Candidates should possess Emergency Services skills, including the ability to respond calmly and efficiently to crises and coordinate with other first responders.Candidates should demonstrate sound judgment, ethical decision-making, and the ability to remain composed under pressure.High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced education in criminal justice or related field is preferred.Ability to meet physical fitness standards, pass background checks, and obtain and maintain required certifications and licenses.Basic computer literacy for report writing and use of department systems; familiarity with radio communication protocols is beneficial.Prior law enforcement, military, or security experience is an advantage but not required for highly motivated, trainable candidates.#J-18808-Ljbffr
